new elite mind in sport

With this season’s Premier League in its infancy, we are beginning to see the ways in which player conditioning, signings and assessments have had a major affect on the ways in which teams perform. We are looking for the new Michu’s, those who are brought in for relatively small fees and manage to explode onto the scene, making a major impact on their team’s success.

At the same time with the financial FairPlay rules now coming into affect, teams like Manchester City, Tottenham and Chelsea, who have all made big acquisitions, need to have an accurate assessment of how big fee and big impact players will affect them as a business. Bringing in a well known but expensive player is not always the best solution to a team’s deficiencies on the pitch and can have a major affect off it.

The search for knowledge from many teams and athletes, not just in football but across the sporting spectrum, is the reason that the Innovation Enterprise has created the Elite Minds in Sports Summit.

Many of those currently working within sports analytics or who are looking to implement new systems want to hear from those who have gone through the same processes, where their own initiatives can build on previous successes and learn from past mistakes. This is why the summit has been designed in a way to allow those in attendance to hear from elite minds across the sporting world, including:

– Director, Elite Development, The FA

– Head of Sports Science, England Cricket Board

– Head of Research, UK Sport

– Head of Sport Science & Strength & Conditioning – Academy, Manchester City FC

– Head of Sports Science, Manchester United FC

– Director LE Performance Consulting (Louise Ellis), BASES Accredited Sports Scientist (sports Psychology) and Biofeedback training in Football

Applying a variety of performance techniques and methods, Louise will showcase how you can use aspects of proven sport psychology research into your coaching, performance or workforce. Louise has been invited speaker to a number of events (including the example below) and has conducted workshops for sports organisations, clubs and teams.

Louise Ellis was invited by IMG to provide a sports psychology workshop for employees of Tier 1 London Olympic games sponsor British Airways. The Olympic themed day was held for BA employees as part of their nationwide MY2012 employee engagement programme. Great Britain 2012 athlete Jessica Ennis, MBE (World Champion heptathlete / World Champion indoor pentathlon and European Champion heptathlon) also attended the day to inspire British Airways staff.
